BBCのラジオ番組でのインタビューで
親にこずかいをねだって買った最初のレコードが
The Jamのこの曲だとBrianCox博士は言っておった。
まさに「８０年代主義」(80's ism）と公言するだけあって、
ストライクな選曲である。

This line is a reference to the UK's commitment to nuclear weapons, implying (through the use of "I don't mind") a level of acceptance on the part of the general populace to the study ("textbooks") of annihilation. In contrast, the song also blasts the idea of using money that should be spent on healthcare on violence; You'll see kidney machines replaced by rockets and guns.

「家族」のような仲間だと言っております。
オバマの選挙キャンペーンのアイコンをデザインした
シカゴ在の有名デジタルデザイナーやそのお友達が
工房で、版画や古い活字を組んだり、木工に取り組んだりと、
職人のような手仕事して息抜き、、、だけじゃなくて、、
デザインの基本を再確認してる、、、、というおはなし。
おもろい！
Twitter や facebook でコミュニケーションするようになっても、
目の前にあるものは、活字であり、文字組であり、段組みなんですって
感じですかね。
デザイナーに必要なのは「職人気質」である、ということです！
タイトルはコンピューターにむかってマウス片手にデザインする人たちが、
わざわざインクやら木屑やらで手を汚してるってことを指してます。

トム・クルーズ主演映画の既製ポスターのみを展示する本作品は、個人や国家のアイデンティティの在処を巡る問いかけであると同時に、美術作品の実体の有り様に対する疑問の呈示ともいえるでしょう。本展覧会では2000年以降のクルーズ主演作のポスターを追加したインスタレーションを展示いたします。
眞島竜男 無題 1999 framed posters

TARO NASU will represent Tatsuo Majima's solo exhibition.
Tatsuo Majima (b. 1970, Japan)'s works are based on his peculiar interest in fusion and collision between cultural differences among modern ages.
Using various media such as texts, photographs, videos and performances, Majima creates his works with unique taste of humour.
This time, Majima presents the series of movie posters all starring Tom Cruise, the icon of the Hollywood movie culture since the 80's.
The poster evokes us of three aspects - Cruise as Hollwood icon, the image of typical hero and Cruise as real person in himself. However at the same time, it suggests us that no one could get hold of his real identity from here. This is Majima's examination into the impossibility of portraiture; questioning where personal/national identity exists.
The work was first exhibited in 1999. This exhibition will be the sequel to the former exhibition, constructing the installation by Tom Cruise posters since 2000.

というニュースでした。
でも公式には認められてないので、ただの噂かも。
他の女性とデートしてるのをパパラッチされるまで待ちましょう。
さて、クルーニーも恋人と別れて、「Back on the Market」と書かれてる記事が
あるところをみると、フリーの身になってマーケットに戻った（売り出し中？）って
意味なのかな。中古市場ですけど、高そうですね。

...Middle aged women across the world are freaking out because their dream come true man, Johnny Depp, is apparently back on the market.
Depp and his life partner, Vanessa, are rumored to have split up after 14 years
According to People, the couple doesn't sleep in the same room and they haven't been seen on a red carpet together in over a year.
His reps have not confirmed the rumors, so I suppose the only way to be sure if it's true is to wait for him to begin the Hollywood dating cycle.

...Middle aged women across the world are freaking out because their dream come true man, Johnny Depp, is apparently back on the market.
Depp and his life partner, Vanessa, are rumored to have split up after 14 years
According to People, the couple doesn't sleep in the same room and they haven't been seen on a red carpet together in over a year.
His reps have not confirmed the rumors, so I suppose the only way to be sure if it's true is to wait for him to begin the Hollywood dating cycle.

新しい光（LED）と「水都・とくしま」まちづくりシンポジウムを開催します。
日時：2月6日（月） 17:00-19:00
会場：ヒルサイドプラザ（東京都渋谷区猿楽町29-10）
定員：150人（参加無料・要申し込み）
主催： 徳島市、徳島LEDアートフェスティバル実行委員会

晩餐会（だったかな？）のシーンでていたけど、ホワイトハウスやら
大使館やらステータスの高いお座敷によばれるチェリストと
いうステレオタイプなイメージがYo-Yo Ma にはありますが、そんなことはないんですyo!
音楽家としてはとても革新的なことをやってます。

Live on Soundcheck: The Goat Rodeo Sessions
Cellist Yo Yo Ma, fiddler Stuart Duncan, bassist Edgar Meyer, and mandolinist Chris Thile got together to make the album The Goat Rodeo Sessions.
So what is a "goat rodeo"? As Yo Yo Ma puts it, "If there were forks in the road and each time there was a fork, the right decision was made, then you get to a goat rodeo."
The arrangements are "like a reverse game of 'Jenga'" says mandolin player Chris Thile, trying to get all the players to land at the same place at the end of the songs.

この度ナディッフ・ギャラリーでは、3人の若手作家による
展覧会「行きつ戻りつ つくり つくられること」を開催いたします。
ピンホールカメラによる作品を発表しつづけ、
同時期に東京都写真美術館のグループ展「日本の新進作家展vol.10 写真の飛躍」
にも出展している佐野陽一。会場やその場にあるものを使って
物品と場に新たな視線と意味を導入するインスタレーションを行う
久村卓。移動と距離、スケールを軸に、ミクスト・メディアの
インスタレーションを構成する山極満博。
3人に共通していることは、自分と世界の「関係性」のあり方を制作や
展示に意識的に織り込んでいるところです。
今回は、3人3様の表現のメディア、プロセスと展示手法を
たずさえた作家が協働するユニークな試みです。

新聞で読んだ村上隆、一面まるまるインタビューは
裏や裏の裏、裏の裏の裏、裏の裏の裏の裏もある世界のアートビジネス界で、
闘い抜いてきた日本人現代美術家として、
日本がとるべき世界に向けての文化戦略の提言も含まれており、
興味深い内容でした。
一番表中の表である一般人の読む新聞という媒体上で、
「言わしてもらうぜ！」という勢いも感じた。
「クール・ジャパンなんて言ってるのは日本人だけだ！」
とバッサリ切り落とし、明確に自分の戦略やら立ち位置を
語っているので、一般人にも「村上隆が何者なのか？」というのが
わかったんではないだろうか？
著作権の話がやはり一番問題だよなーと。
だいたい同じものがウェブでも読めるようなので、どうぞ。
ウェブは新聞よりちょっと短めになっているのかな？

*鷹野隆大 個展 「モノクロ写真」とトーク

*第6回東京プライドパレードに遭遇！2007.8.11

今頃気づきましたが、どうやら理系イケメンが人気らしい。
昔でいうとブライアン・メイ（Queen）みたいに、大学で研究しながら
バンドでもバリバリなロックやってます！ というのがもてるの、かも？
コックス先生は妹とDuran Duranのコンサートにいって、感動したそうな。
で、ちょっとニューロマンティック風のバンド（D:Ream）もやり音楽番組に
出たり人気があったのだけど、マンチェスター大学にもどって勉強しなおしたんだそうな。
「ピンナッププロフェッサー」と呼ばれてるのがおもしろい。
ロックスターのようにかっこいい「コックス博士効果」で
大学に進み「科学者になりたい」若者（would-be scientists）が
急増してるということです。。。ふーん。
それこそ「教授」というニックネームの坂本龍一が元祖でしょ！！

In the press he's been called 'the pin-up professor' and his enormously popular TV series have been credited with creating the 'Brian Cox effect' - a surge in the number of would-be scientists applying to university. As a teenager he decided he wanted to be a rock star; he toured the world as a member of the band Dare and performed on Top of the Pops with his second group D:Ream.

*鷹野隆大 個展 「モノクロ写真」とトーク

*第6回東京プライドパレードに遭遇！2007.8.11
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
今頃気づきましたが、どうやら理系イケメンが人気らしい。
昔でいうとブライアン・メイ（Queen）みたいに、大学で研究しながら
バンドでもバリバリなロックやってます！ というのがもてるの、かも？
コックス先生は妹とDuran Duranのコンサートにいって、感動したそうな。
で、ちょっとニューロマンティック風のバンド（D:Ream）もやり音楽番組に
出たり人気があったのだけど、マンチェスター大学にもどって勉強しなおしたんだそうな。
「ピンナッププロフェッサー」と呼ばれてるのがおもしろい。
ロックスターのようにかっこいい「コックス博士効果」で
大学に進み「科学者になりたい」若者（would-be scientists）が
急増してるということです。。。ふーん。
それこそ「教授」というニックネームの坂本龍一が元祖でしょ！！

"Time Out says"
Born the second son of Tatsuoki Nambata, one of the forefathers of abstract expressionism in Japan, Fumio Nambata never had much chance to outdo his dad's legacy: he lost his life in a tragic accident at the age of 32. Yet the 15 years preceding his demise were marked by a startling productivity, meaning that Nambata completed over 2,000 works during his short lifetime. There will be around 240 of these on display at Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, including some of his most vivid watercolours, alongside a selection of sketches and photographs.

難波田史男（なんばた・ふみお）は日本の抽象絵画を開拓した難波田龍起の次男に生まれ、繊細かつ鋭利な線描と深い色彩による作品の数々を制作しました。東京オペラシティ アートギャラリーの寺田コレクションには史男の作品約250点が収蔵されていますが、その中から水彩画を中心に約100点を展示します。

ロンドンオリンピックのポスターもデザインした(とおもっていたが自分の過去記事を確認したらしてなかった）ホックニー。ずっとアメリカ暮らししてたけど、現在はイギリスで作家生活を送ってます。
なんかじいさんがずっとしゃべってるなーと思ったら、ホックニーだった。
Frankly.....とハーストのことチクリと批判。
いやー声だけ聞くとおじいさんになりました。。。。と思うけれど、
作品は若々しく！ 激しく！ 、、、、びっくり!！ （リンク先にあります）
それにiPadで描いてるとは！ さすがですね。
時折きこえる自然の音がいい感じ。

バンコクから北に車で２時間半くらいいったところにあるカオヤイ国立公園の一角のお山のリゾート地で行われるタイ最大の野外フェス「BIG MOUNTAIN」。
そこに週末の２日間だけ仮設遊園地みたいな会場ができあがり、バンコクのちびっこたちが
何万人も押し寄せてきます。
洪水のあとでみんな祭りが待ち遠しかったのか、今年は去年よりもいっそう盛り上がった印象でした。
日本では皆既月食の夜。タイでも三日月くらいまで欠けた。
山ガール的ファッションは一人もいなくて、みんなサンダルとかヒールでやってくるし、
ゆるいねー。
明け方。飲み食いし散らかしたあとの光景もタイフェス名物？
言葉を失います。
確かに商業主義ばりばりのフェスではあるんだけど、その中に仕掛けられたいろんなクリエイティビティと
タイ人の無邪気で素朴なフェスの楽しみ方が、もういろんなことを凌駕していて面白いです。
朝の光はアピチャッポンの世界じゃー
BIG MOUNTAINへの行き方は昨年の「美術手帖／BT」のアジア特集にも書きましたが、
今回バンコクからロットゥーという乗合ミニバスで行ったら一番楽だった。
時刻表はなく、席が埋まり次第出発するというタイ式ゆるさの極み！！
帰りは各自「すいませーんここで降りまーす！」っていえば降ろしてもらえる。
つい最近まで日本の地方バスもそうだったと思うんだけどなー。

どちらも１月15日まで！
森美術館 メタボリズムの未来都市展
東京都現代美術館「建築、アートがつくりだすこれからの感じ」展
会期長いとおもって油断してたらもう来週いっぱいで終了です。
ちょうどメタボリズムの立役者、菊竹清訓さんが亡くなられたという
訃報がおとといくらいに入ってきて、展覧会で一番インパクトあっただけに残念。
メタボリズム展のチラシのイメージも菊竹さんの「エコポリス」構想の絵。
まるで円谷プロか成田亨の世界。遠くに見える富士山にしびれます。
60年代のメタボリズム運動については、高度経済成長で爆発的に増加した東京の人口をなんとかするために東京湾に水上都市をおっ立てようぜとか、奇想天外で面白いプランがたくさん生まれた日本の建築史でも相当愉快な時代とは思ってた。けど、その妄想の背景にあったのが敗戦から日本の復興だったことをこの展覧会で始めて知った。戦後の焼け野原で、どんなビジョンを未来に打ち立てるのか、そこに対する大きな使命感があったんだろう。
展示の始まりが、丹下健三の広島平和記念館からというのも象徴的。
おそらく3.11の震災後、企画の構成も変わったんじゃないかな。この展覧会を今回の震災からの復興プランの参照にしてほしいという企画者の意図がすごい伝わる。
みんなすごく丁寧に見てました。
当時の模型や年表やパネル等、展示的には資料的要素も強いけど、かつての都市構想を新たに3D化した映像は圧巻。映像のナレーションの日本語がいやに文学的なのも当時的？
ご存命のメタボリアン？たちが語る当時のエピソードも面白くて、全部見終わるのに３時間かかった。
人によっては４時間とも。
こういう建築展の企画は森美術館はほんと秀逸ですね。
一方、都現美「これからの感じ」展は、SANAAと長谷川祐子学芸員の共同企画で、建築が国の未来を背負っていた時代とその50年後、と比較して見ても面白い。メタボ展がこれがメタボだ！とはっきり提唱することにすごい力注いでいたのとは対照的に、28人の国内外の建築家とアーティストのいろんな仕事が並列的に解説もなく並んで、まさに「こんな感じ？」な雰囲気。
一言でいうのはむずかしけれど、こんな感じのキーワードは、軽さとか、オーガニックとか、ブリコラージュとか、ふわふわとか、非定型とか、場とか、できこととか。。。
柱と壁でできてた建築の世界がもっと空間と人に寄った発想になってるみたいな、そんな感じ？
そこにアーティストの世界の見方と通じる部分を見いだして、そうした思考や視線に重点を置いて紹介しようとしてるんだろうと思う。
会場に発生してる人工の雲。これも建築？
なにを面白いと思うのか、見方の作法みたいなものも建築とアートでは違う。
建築展ともアート展ともいいがたいこの展覧会でなるほどなーと思ったのは、建築は理屈好き、アートはやはり見た目が大事ということ。
あえてそのどっちでもないところを狙った展覧会なので、やっぱりどう見ていいのか
わからなくて?という人は多いかもしれない。
だから頭を柔らかくして先入観なしにおもしろがってやろうくらいの感じで見るといいのかも。
どちらの展覧会も、3.11を強く意識しながらも、直接的な復興プランを展示してるわけじゃない。一刻も早く復興を、という声も重要だけど、こんな時だからこそもっと根本的なところから考えまくろう、思いまくろうって、そんなメッセージにも受け取れた。
既成概念とか固定概念とかそういうものを超えて発想しないと、
未来を変えるようなすごいアイデアは沸かないんだってことがよーくわかった展覧会です。
赤い農業用シートでできた屋外パビリオンでセクシー下着のおねえさんたちが歌い踊り、タイ人が飲み騒いでます。設計は建築家の遠藤治郎、かなあ。
まさに「これ感」的じゃないでしょうかあ、先生！？
日本じゃあ建築法的に絶対できないんだって、残念！

ということで、正月の読書はこれ。
ブログの神とあがめます。

ハンス・ウルリッヒ・オブリストによるアイ・ウェイウェイのインタビューシリーズ。
2011年緊急出版されたっぽい。
去年４月空港で突然拘束されてから６月に保釈されるまでの２ヶ月間、世界中が安否を気遣い、その保釈後もなにかとニュースがたえない、中国のアーティストであり建築家であり社会運動家でもあるアイ・ウェイウェイ。
その多彩な活動の背景を探るべく、2006年から2010年までオブリストが
場所を変えテーマを変え行ったインタビュー５本がおさめられている。
作品の話はもちろんのこと、近代化により劇的に変化した市民生活や、オリンピック前後の社会統制、著名な詩人で文革によって弾圧された父親のことなど、彼をとりまくさまざまなエピソードが生々しく語られていて、そこから彼の作品に込められた思想や自由への思いの深さが伝わってくる。
カラー写真も豊富。
スタジオの猫のエピソードも面白い。
その２人の話の軸となるのが、2006年から2009年まで続いたアイ・ウェイウェイのブログ。
一日何十ポストもしまくっていたというアイ・ウェイウェイのブロガーぶりがすごい。
2009年に中国政府によって閉鎖されるまで、一日10万人を越えるビジターが訪れる人気ブログだったらしい。
北京オリンピックの象徴、鳥の巣スタジアムの建築を手がけた国家の英雄。
その一方で、表現や言論の自由を抑圧する中国政府に批判をこめた作品を発表し、
影響力ある発言を続ける、当局にとっては実にやっかいなアーティスト。
そうした微妙な力の駆け引きを政府と続けるようすに、
うわーそんなこといって大丈夫なの？とか読んでるこっちがはらはらしたりして。
安全なアートの檻の中から批判しているわけではないんだね。
とはいえ、こうして世界中のアートピープルも味方につけていて、
すごいなアイ・ウェイウェイ。

「この本は、アイ・ウェイウェイを支援し、その多岐にわたる活動を賞賛するものである」
タイミング狙って出した本らしくさらっと読めるしお安いのでおすすめ。

新年あけましておめでとうございます。
いろいろあった2011年。
ということで、今年はどこにも行かずに東京で静かに新年を迎えました。
松井冬子の紅白衣装を見逃した。
元旦０時をすぎてから、近くの渋谷の金王八幡宮へ初詣。
駅近なのに静かでけっこう穴場。
境内ではたき火が焚かれて、
御神酒や甘酒が振る舞われて、
なかなかいいもんですねー日本のお正月。
御神酒とおしるこを一つずつもらって、秘技お汁粉酒！！
おみくじひいたら「末吉」。
「酒色に溺れないように注意せよ」とあり。
がーん！
今年もVOID Chickenをどうぞよろしくお願いいたしますニャー！！！

be poised to ...の準備ができた 態勢が整った
goof around ふざける 遊び回る （Daveの踊りね）
もちろんタイトルの Ready to Jump into 、、、
は名曲の「Jump」に引っ掛けてるのは言わずもがな、なのだけど。
Daveが戻って再結成ですよ。 Edと仲直りしたんかいな？
（現在のベースはEdの息子）
エドワードを見るとどうしても野村のヨッちゃんを思い出してしまう。。。
といってるうちにもう暮れになってしまった。
リハーサルの動画あり。みんながんばって練習してます。
で、チケットは１月１０日から発売。（アメリカです）

Looks Ready to 。。。どうやら再結成するみたい、って感じです。
ファンはもっと詳しく知りたいよね？
their colossal 1980s-era hair、、、、とはあの80'sロッカーの象徴ですな。
見事なもじゃもじゃロン毛も準備OKってことで、これは皮肉っぽくて笑えます。
Bon Joviも昔はすごいロン毛でしたが、今はさっぱり短髪ですね。

Van Halen Looks Ready to Jump Into Reunion Tour

The reunion they said would never happen, already happened once before but didn’t happen in time for a Grammy Awards nomination concert, appears to be happening (again). The classic lineup of Van Halen, including David Lee Roth and the brothers Eddie and Alex Van Halen, and what remains of their colossal 1980s-era hair looked as if they were poised to regroup for a new concert tour after the appearance of videos that were posted on the band’s Web site, www.van-halen.com. The black-and-white segments, set to parts of the Van Halen songs “Jump,” “Panama” and “Hot For Teacher,” show the bandmates rehearsing and goofing around while a ticker on the bottom of the screen reads: “Van Halen on Tour 2012″ and “First tickets on sale Jan. 10.” No other information was immediately available.

来年のロンドンオリンピックに合わせて開催されるおすすめ展覧会の記事。
最初の出だしが笑ったので紹介。同感！
For anyone who likes visiting galleries and museums, next year’s Olympics are terrific news. While the rest of the nation thrills to the kayak races and gasps at the volleyball, the art galleries will be empty. We’ll have them to ourselves.
ギャラリーや美術館に行くのが好きな人にとって、来年がロンドンオリンピックの年って
ことは、なんとも嬉しいニュースです。他の国民がカヤックレースに興奮して、バレーボールの熱戦に息を飲んでる間は、ギャラリーはガラガラでしょうし、アート好きの私たちは多いに楽しむことができるんです。

しかし、以下Richard Dormentのセレクションはすごく渋い通好みのうえ、
広範囲なアートジャンルを紹介しまくってる内容なので、時間があったら
追って追記したいですが。。。
日本人アーティストですと、、、
Yayoi Kusama, the 83-year-old Japanese conceptual and performance artist, will show a series of her truly weird and utterly compelling installations at Tate Modern (Feb 9-June 9), while Yoko Ono will do something baffling at the Serpentine in the autumn. The Whitechapel Art Gallery holds a full-scale retrospective of the inimitable Gillian Wearing from March 28 to June 17.

Yayoi Kusama, the 83-year-old Japanese conceptual and performance artist, will show a series of her truly weird and utterly compelling installations at Tate Modern (Feb 9-June 9), while Yoko Ono will do something baffling at the Serpentine in the autumn. The Whitechapel Art Gallery holds a full-scale retrospective of the inimitable Gillian Wearing from March 28 to June 17.
